What is the Boiler Upgrade Scheme?

The government want to make sure that low carbon heating technologies are no more expensive than fossil fuel boilers.

What is available through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme?

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) offers a £5,000 green grant for the installation of an air source heat pump or £6,000 when installing a ground source heat pump, in a one off up front payment when removing a fossil fuel boiler.

When is the BUS available?

Bus Scheme is available from April 1st 2022 with vouchers being issued starting 23rd May 2022 and is available for 2 years.

Who is eligible for the BUS?

If you have Gas, Oil, LPG, or electric heating you are eligible. The scheme does not cover anyone replacing their heat pump on a like for like basis.

How Do I apply for the scheme?
