What are they?
Solar panels will generate electricity facing in any direction but by preference they need to be facing somewhere between South West and South East. We can help you choose the best location.
Where possible, we aim to install panels so that they are south facing and angled at around 30 degrees. This position creates the best possible generation opportunity for your solar PV array.
How can they benefit you?
Solar panels are groups of photovoltaic cells made up of layers of semi-conductive material. When sunlight shines on the panels, photons in the light cause electrons in the panel to move around. The panels then convert the electrons into an electric field creating a current of DC electricity.
So that you can use the energy in your home, a small inverter converts this DC electricity into AC electricity. And any surplus electricity gets exported to the National Grid.

SolarEdge Smart Solar modules are integrated with SolarEdge power optimisers to maximise panel performance and facilitate individual panel monitoring. Integrating the optimiser and the panel means a simpler installation process, and quicker mapping of the array in the monitoring app.
Optimisers track and modulate the performance of each module, to overcome any differences resulting from shading, orientation or module mismatch. The SolarEdge optimiser system will reduce the impact of these differences to maximise the power of the system, and ensure a quicker return on the investment for domestic and commercial installations.
The SolarEdge also includes module-level monitoring via an online portal which is compatible with smartphone apps.
The SolarEdge optimisers carry a 25 year warranty and feature a unique SafeDCTM mechanism which shuts down DC voltage and current of every module as soon as the system is disconnected from the AC supply for greater safety during maintenance or in the event of a fire. The modules themselves carry a 15 year warranty.

Growatt Inverters
The new XE range of residential inverters is a smaller, lighter version of it’s MTL-S predecessor. This combined with the 98.2% maximum efficiency, type II SPD protection on the DC side and support of export limitation makes the new XE range a good fit for residential systems.

Tigo Optimisers
Revolutionary optimisers from Tigo work with any panel and any inverter. You can use as few as one optimiser on a whole system – ideal if you have a small number of shaded panels or a few panels on another orientation. Only those panels that are shaded, or those on a separate roof, need to be optimised and can be mixed in a string with non-optimised panels.
Tigo have both a junction-box replacement optimiser for use with compatible panels (our Perlight range) or retrofit frame-mounted optimisers for use with most other panels.
