Solar PV

Solar PV is a long-term investment, and low carbon home systems will be there for you every step of the way. As an independent Shropshire-based company, we can offer an unrivalled personal service.

Visit our Showroom in Ellesmere anytime during office hours, where we can answer your questions and demonstrate how a solar PV system operates.

What are they?

Solar panels will generate electricity facing in any direction but by preference they need to be facing somewhere between South West and South East. We can help you choose the best location.

Where possible, we aim to install panels so that they are south facing and angled at around 30 degrees. This position creates the best possible generation opportunity for your solar PV array.

How can they benefit you?

Solar panels are groups of photovoltaic cells made up of layers of semi-conductive material. When sunlight shines on the panels, photons in the light cause electrons in the panel to move around. The panels then convert the electrons into an electric field creating a current of DC electricity.

So that you can use the energy in your home, a small inverter converts this DC electricity into AC electricity. And any surplus electricity gets exported to the National Grid.

Energy Efficient

Avoid wasting energy that could be used within your home. Our range of energy-saving devices are designed to help you better manage your energy usage and make real savings. Whether it’s installing an immersion heater to heat your hot water or installing LED lights to help improve your overall efficiency, we have a solution to suit.

“The Complete Residential Solar Solution” – SolarEdge prides them self of long warranties, superior safety, module level visibility, flexile design and more energy for your money.

SolarEdge Smart Solar modules are integrated with SolarEdge power optimisers to maximise panel performance and facilitate individual panel monitoring. Integrating the optimiser and the panel means a simpler installation process, and quicker mapping of the array in the monitoring app.

Optimisers track and modulate the performance of each module, to overcome any differences resulting from shading, orientation or module mismatch. The SolarEdge optimiser system will reduce the impact of these differences to maximise the power of the system, and ensure a quicker return on the investment for domestic and commercial installations.

The SolarEdge also includes module-level monitoring via an online portal which is compatible with smartphone apps.

The SolarEdge optimisers carry a 25 year warranty and feature a unique SafeDCTM mechanism which shuts down DC voltage and current of every module as soon as the system is disconnected from the AC supply for greater safety during maintenance or in the event of a fire. The modules themselves carry a 15 year warranty.

Trina solar all black 390w panels

Vertex S is Trina’s latest PV module product for fast growing non-utility customers, and carries their cutting-edge Vertex Platform technology.

Based on Trina Solar’s superior multi-busbar technology, the Vertex S modules incorporate an innovative design that integrates 1/3 split cell, non-destructive cutting and high-density interconnect technologies. Due to their design being specifically aimed for residential and C&I applications, the new Vertex S series unlocks the potential for reducing balance-of-system costs further.

JA solar all black panels

JA Solar Large Wafer PERC Multi-Busbar Half-Cell All Black Module The half-cell configuration of the modules offers the advantages of higher power output, better temperature-dependent performance, reduced shading effect on the energy generation, lower risk of hot spot, as well as enhanced tolerance for mechanical loading.

Growatt Inverters

The new XE range of residential inverters is a smaller, lighter version of it’s MTL-S predecessor. This combined with the 98.2% maximum efficiency, type II SPD protection on the DC side and support of export limitation makes the new XE range a good fit for residential systems.

Note: These products are not compatible with the standard Shinelink or Shinevision monitoring options and require the Shinelink-X for monitoring.

Solis Inverters

Experience Quality and Reliability. Advanced inverter technology for higher production, greater reliability, and superior quality.

The SolaX vision is to be a world leader in the development, production and distribution of solar inverters. SolaX have developed the Boost range of single phase dual MPPT inverters to be unrivalled in the industry for their quality, reliability and efficiency. The SolaX Boost single phase, dual MPPT inverters boast a wide MPPT voltage range to allow for more energy harvesting. For system information, the optional Pocket WiFi from SolaX enables remote monitoring for the full SolaX inverter range. A simple plug-in device will allow the end-user to view their systems performance anywhere in the world.

Key Features:
  • Maximum efficiency 97%
  • Dual MPTT
  • Low Start up Voltage
  • Small and Lightweight
  • IP65 rated for indoor or outdoor use
  • 10 yeas warranty

Tigo Optimisers

Revolutionary optimisers from Tigo work with any panel and any inverter. You can use as few as one optimiser on a whole system – ideal if you have a small number of shaded panels or a few panels on another orientation. Only those panels that are shaded, or those on a separate roof, need to be optimised and can be mixed in a string with non-optimised panels.

Tigo have both a junction-box replacement optimiser for use with compatible panels (our Perlight range) or retrofit frame-mounted optimisers for use with most other panels.
